Connecting Talent with Opportunity: Our Outreach at the VCU Job Fair
Mission Critical’s outreach at the VCU Job Fair
Curious about the booming data center industry? IES Mission Critical recently connected with VCU engineering students at a job fair, offering insights into exciting career opportunities in this rapidly growing field.
As part of our ongoing commitment to recruit and develop the best tradespeople, IES Mission Critical recently participated in a job fair hosted by the 7×24 Exchange Central Virginia Chapter for Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) engineering students. Mission Critical Director of Market Development Tracy Hammond, who tabled at the event, had the thrilling chance to speak with students about the growing field of data centers and the many career paths available within the Mission Critical vertical.
“Talking to students provided a great opportunity to answer their detailed questions about how data centers work, why they are growing rapidly and how they can make this a rewarding career option,” says Tracy reflecting on her one-on-one conversations with job fair attendees.
Before speaking with the many different companies present at the job fair, students engaged in a panel discussion with experts who touched on the intricacies of data centers such as their construction, operation, and maintenance. Students were not only eager to learn, but their insightful questions continued in their individual conversations with Tracy allowing students to explore how they can contribute to the industry, while simultaneously learning more about IES Electrical’s role as a leader in the data center sector. “In order to stay ahead of workforce demands we have to continue to support these events and educate students about job openings for the future,” said Tracy. “I was proud to be there representing IES Electrical Mission Critical and as a member of the 7×24 Central Chapter.”
